EatBute
10 Sep 2011 - Highlands & Islands
Now in its 4th year the eatBute festival is a celebration of the
best produce that Scotland's food & craft artisans have to
offer, with a special emphasis on the products of Bute, Argyll and
the surrounding region. Organised and promoted by Mount Stuart
Trust eatBute is a key event in both the Isle of Bute and the
Scottish Festival Calendar. This year is set to be our best event
yet.
Learn some tricks of the trade at our cookery demonstrations from
some of the best chefs in the UK. ITV1's This Morning and their
chef Phil Vickery will be paying a visit to this year's
festival.
The weekend has a wealth of Live Music from Scottish Tribal Band
Clann an Drumma to the rootsy, acoustic sound that is
Acousticrat.
With a mini zoo, face painting, sports games, a smoothie bike and
even an appearance from Peppa Pig there's lots of activities to
keep the kids entertained.
At this year's Festival we're creating a three-dimensional piece of
art with your homemade jam and chutney ranging through shades from
blackcurrant to lemon yellow. Bring along your pots of homemade jam
or chutney and give your jar the 15 minutes of fame it
deserves!
This year we wanted to give you, our visitors an opportunity to
showcase your own talents so we've put together a number of
competitions for you to enter with some excellent prizes up for
grabs: Window Box of the Year, Vegetable of the Festival and the
Homemade Apple Pie Champion.
Come along to our feast of a festival!
