Hotels and B&Bs

Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight highlights the wealth of produce on offer to consumers. It also encourages the food industry - from restaurants to retailers and caterers - to source and champion quality Scottish produce, supporting the people who produce our food and drink.

The aim of the Fortnight is to encourage people to discover, buy, eat and enjoy the food and drink produced on their doorstep, building Scotland's reputation for excellent quality produce. Sales of Scottish brands have risen 22% since 2007 and we aim to support continual growth. In addition, recent research shows that named ingredients of local provenance command a premium.

Downloadable promotional material is available from the Materials section of this website. It includes posters of various designs in A3 and A4 format, shelf barkers and stickers. The Fortnight logo is also available for use. For more information or to discuss your involvement, contact fortnight@scotlandfoodanddrink.org.

There are countless ways to celebrate the Fortnight. Here are some of our suggestions:

  • Highlight locally sourced produce on your menu throughout the fortnight
  • Host a special Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight day
  • Serve a special regional menu to your guests, highlighting the wealth of delicious produce in your area
  • Offer a special Scottish breakfast for the Fortnight, using only Scottish produce
  • Showcase a different Scottish producer each day on your menus, with dishes focussed on that ingredient, e.g. tomatoes, beef, venison, pheasant, beer or chocolate
  • Offer a discounted Scottish set menu for lunch and/or dinner
  • Create a flyer showing guests where they can buy great local produce to take home as a memento of their visit, or sell small treats like Scottish chocolate from your reception desk
  • Use the Eat Scottish pledge at facebook.com/eatscottish as a sales tool, the #eatScottish hashtag in your Fortnight tweeting, and follow @ScotFoodFort to keep up with all the Fortnight news
  • Make sure you tell us about any events you run, so we can list them on the website for free, and help you promote them

However you get involved this Fortnight, we'd love to hear about it! Message us on facebook.com/eatscottish, keep us up to date on Twitter or email us at fortnight@scotlandfoodanddrink.org.
